Trains and Automobiles

Tuesday night, Steve and I played at the Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC. It was fun, although a gremlin invaded my preamp and made it sound like a shit. Before the show, Sarah, Mary Anne and I ate at Cabo Fish Taco. Yum! I got the BBQ mahi taco, which was totally awesome. The show was fun. Again, the crowd felt slightly sedated, but people seemed to have a good time. After we loaded out, we tried to leave the same way we came in, but there was a ginormous train that is actually still crossing 36th st. as we speak. So we improvised and actually found I-277 south! and then we missed the turn at the last second. DAMN DAMN DAMN!! We got back on track and made it home, but after I dropped Steve off in Summerville, guess what was crossing the st.: ANOTHER TRAIN!! This one only lasted a second, but still….do y’all think that symbolizes anything? Leave a comment interpreting my train encounters, and if you interpret the omen correctly, you’ll win….the knowledge that you’re a psychic!

    Hey Wardie,

So, I think Jung or Freud would say encountering trains has something to do with sex… in dreams trains generally mean that you are on the track on your journey.

In real life, I’m guessing two trains in one night is a sign of a busy evening at the Port Authority.

So, I finally took a minute to check out your album today. I heart it. Thank you. I am so bummed you aren’t coming to CHI. My couches are so lonely without you all.

    hugs,

    Mar

PS - BBQ Mahi Taco has nothing on Adobo guac!

Damn!!! I wish I could have been there to see you play. The last Ward show was great. Next time in town and at Cabo you should try their drink the Silver Surfer!!!! AMAZING. Good luck at the shows :)

I saw a review of a gourmet mexican restaurant in NYC in the New Yorker a few weeks ago. I’ll scope it out and let you know for future travels…I can’t imagine anything better than Adobo Grill, though!!

You’ll have to audition restaurants for November. It looks like I will be in NYC the week before Thanksgiving. I’d say I’ll bring guac but I’m pretty sure TSA would frown on that.
